Pakhtoon beat Sindhis by 8 runs in an exciting match that kept the fans of both the team in tenterhook till the last over when the Sindhis lost their way in the last few deliveries, in the 9th match of the T10 League 2.0 – at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
The Sindhis, who kept losing after regular intervals, kept pushing and managed to put up a great fight back, needing 11 off the last four balls. However, a few good deliveries put the Pakhtoon back on top. Thissera Pereira’s 47 in 13 balls kept the Sindhis hopes alive as at one point they looked comfortable to win. However, his departure changed the equation.
Andre Fletcher and Shafiqullah’s series of sixes and boundaries on the first innings of the match became too heavy to cover for the Sindhis on the second innings.
Winning team Pakhtoon, scored 137 runs losing 6 wickets. The highest scorer from the team was Andre Fletcher, who hit 68 off 29 balls including 5 sixes and 6 boundaries while Shafiqullah hit 45 off 16 balls including 4 sixes and 4 boundaries to power their team, amid continuous cheer from a huge crowd at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday evening.
In response, Sindhis scored 129 runs losing 8 wicket. Thisara Perera was the highest scorer from Sindhis, who hit 47 off 13 balls including 7 sixes. 2 wickets of Sindhis among the 8 wickets were taken by Mohammad Irfan and another 2 wickets by Sohail Khan.
T10 League is the world’s first and currently the only professional ten-over format international cricket league backed by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC), governing body of international cricket.
The 2018 edition scheduled to start from November 21 and spread over 12 days, will have 29 matches as compared to a 4-day event in 2017. To meet this new challenge and also to keep the event clean, the T10 League management has made many positive changes to bolster the execution and operations of the 2018 T10 League tournament.

Editor’s Note
About T10 League
T10 Cricket League is a professional ten-over format Cricket League launched by T10 Sports Management. It is approved by the Emirates Cricket Board and the International Cricket Council. It is the first ever internationally ten-over format approved league.
Matches have 10-over-a-side format and duration of 90 minutes. The tournament is played over ten days, with a round robin followed by semi-finals and the final. The 2017 edition was played from 14-17 December at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. In August 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) officially sanctioned the league.
