Renowned personality of Azad Kashmir, Mr Nisar Ahmed Shaiq has shown interest in buying the 6th team in PSL, Multan Sultans. He will most likely rename the team to Kashmir Kings. In this regard, Mr Shaiq has been in talks with officials at PCB for quite some while. Currently more than 14 parties are interested to buy the 6th team. Ali Tareen, son of PTI leader, Jahangeer Tareen is also in the running for purchasing the team; however, sources report that Nisar Ahmed has a greater chance of acquiring the new team. Nisar has completed all relevant paper work and will be heading to Lahore next week where he will be participating in the bidding process.
Nisar believes Kashmiris should have a strong representation in PSL, it is their right and he shall go to any extent to make this possible. Nisar has been involved in many cricket related activities in Kashmir, he also discovered Salman Irshad, who later represented Lahore Qalandars in PSL. Nisar envisions that the stars of tomorrow in every sport field should emerge from Kashmir because the region has prodigious amount of talent, it is high time Kashmiris now get to represent their country nationally and internationally
It’s important to remember that the sixth team is one of the most expensive teams and has a myriad of stars including Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik. The overall cost of the team exceeds 1 Million, whoever, eventually buys the team will surely have a great squad in hand.
