Karachi’s dismal run continues, as defending Champions raced to 4th victory.



Islamabad United took on Karachi Kings in their second encounter of HBLPSL-4, with Karachi looking to continue their winning form while Islamabad would look to get back in the groove.
Shadab Khan opted to field first after winning the toss for United, with Rumman provided the early breakthrough, when he had Munro caught for 4 by Asif Ali. Livingstone and Babar then accelerated for Kings and smashed United bowlers all over the park. The pair put on 78 runs stand in just 8 overs to put Kings over the 100 runs marks in 10th over. Shadab ended the stand, when he removed Livingstone for 56. Last match’s hero; Ingram briskly started his innings but his progress was halted by some quality bowling. Ingram made 13, while Ben Dunk scored 12, with United made a comeback to the game by bowling some tight overs at the end phase of the innings. Babar Azam scored a comprehensive half century off 34 balls and went on to make 68, as wickets in quick succession brought Islamabad back to the game and they restricted Karachi to 168/8. Rumman remained the pick of the bowlers with 27-3, while Ammad and Shadab bowled economically for their spell of 27-1

Delport and Ronchi opened the innings for United, Delport didn’t last long as he dismissed for duck. Salt and Ronchi joined for the 2nd wicket stand and they put on 43 runs for the 2nd wicket stand. Ronchi fell for 26 off Umer Khan, while Hussain’s bad patch continues as was stumped for 1 in the same over. Asif Ali and Salt steadied the ship for United and added blistering 93 runs for the 4th wicket and put Islamabad in the commanding position. Asif’s blistering innings of 70, was ended by Amir. Phil Salt’s solid knock of 46 was undone by Shinwari. Faheem and Shadab put Islamabad on course of victory as they gunned down the target in last over to register 4th win in the tournament. Amir picked up 23-1 in 4 overs.
