Kamran and bowlers help Zalmi surpass United to reach the final.

Islamabad United took on Peshawar Zalmi in the second eliminator of HBLPSL-4, with the winner of the game go through to the final and the looser of the game go home. Players of both sides observed one minute silence in account for the terrible incident occurred at Mosque in Christchurch.

Peshawar Zalmi was put into bat first by Islamabad United after winning the toss, with Imam and Kamran begun the innings for Peshawar. The pair put on the decent 58-0 in the first power play, as the united bowlers had no clue to their aggressive technique. The pair went on to make 135 in 12 overs, as the part-timer Delport got the better of Imam for 58, Kamran was dismissed for brilliant 74 by Deport too. Sohaib Maqsood joined Pollard, as Pollard struck couple of sixes to bring Zalmi back into the game, with Shadab dismissed Sohaib for 4. Pollard and Sammy took a great liking to United’s bowling as they took the total to 214/5. Sammy remained unbeaten on 30, while Pollard scored 37.

Ronchi and Delport begun the proceedings for United, but Ronchi’s firepower didn’t last long as was undone for 17 by Hasan Ali. Hales could only manage 1. Walton and Delport steadied the ship for United by adding 64 runs for the 3rd wicket stand. Delport fell for 28 off Hasan Ali. Asif was sent in to deal with the situation but he too was undone for a duck. Walton made a fighting 48, before getting caught off Mills. Faheem struck few lusty blows to give United hope, but he didn’t get the support from other end as he was undone by Jordan for 31.
