5 sensational bowlers to come out of PSL4

PSL has always churned out extraordinary talent for Pakistan especially when it comes to bowling. There is simply no comparison of the quality of bowlers that are found in Pakistan Super League. In the past PSL has given us talent like Hasan Ali, Shadab khan and Faheem Ashraf, today the current lot of fast bowlers have also left us stunned by their speed and performance. Here are our top 5 picks for the best bowlers that have emerged out of PSL4.

  1. Muhammad Husnain – Quetta Gladiators

Right arm pacer Muhammad Husnain became the talk of the town when he bowled at the speed of 150kph in PSL4. Having represented Pakistan’s Under-19 team, Hasnain grew up watching the fast bowling by Mohammad Sami, the speedster from Karachi who is one of his idols. Today Husnain is amongst the fastest bowlers to have emerged from PSL.

The Gladiators star has performed in every match and his speed has castled many veteran batsmen e.g. Shoaib Malik, AB, Babar Azam and many more. So far he has consistently bowled above 140kph. He is one lethal fast bowler in the making!

  • Haris Rauf – Lahore Qalandars

A product of Lahore Qalandars player development program, Haris Rauf has stunned spectators with his extraordinary bowling ability. He came into the limelight when he turned many low scoring matches in Lahore’s favor and bewildered everyone with his ability to take wickets at crucial times. Rauf’s bowling speed is over 140kph and his economy rate is 5.63.

He came to Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium to appear in trials conducted by Lahore Qalandars as part of their countrywide player development program. But due to a large number of aspiring cricketers present for the trials, he couldn’t give his trials in his hometown.

He travelled all the way to Gujranwala and appeared in trials there. The first ball he delivered was recorded at 148km/h. That was enough for the coaches to pick him for Lahore Qalandars development squad.

  • Umar Khan – Karachi Kings

The 19 years old teen star, Umar Khan has made us a fan of his bowling. Whether it was AB diVilliers, Shane Watson or Luke Ronchi, this young sensation has deceived the best of the best with his lethal bowling style. The happy go lucky cricketer has a lot of energy packed inside him and is definitely the one to watch out for.

Umer is originally from FATA but his family settled in Taxila where his father repairs punctures on tyres. He was spotted by former Pakistan Test cricketer Nadeem Khan who brought him to UBL for further training.

  • Ali Shafiq – Multan Sultans

After losing their first match, Multan Sultans made a remarkable comeback and defeated Islamabad United by five wickets in the fourth match of Pakistan Super League 2019. All this was possible due to an awesome spell by emerging player Ali Shafiq. He took two crucial wickets in the match allowing his team to win. Ali is a great find for Multan Sultans and belongs to a rural area in Pakistan; he has struggled a lot to reach this level and is now impressing critics with his performances.

  • Ibtisam Sheikh – Peshawar Zalmi

He made his first-class debut for Faisalabad in the 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy on 9 October 2017. He made his T20 debut for Peshawar Zalmi in the 2018 Pakistan Super League on 22 February 2018. The 20 years old bowler has shown great form in both PSL 3 and PSL 4.

With the emergence of these remarkably talented bowlers, we can assure you one thing that cricket is in safe hands and Pakistan shall continue to dominate in international arena for many more years.
