Hammad’s all-round performance sets up first win for Sindh.

Sindh took on Federal Areas in the 5th encounter of Pakistan ODI Cup, with both teams winless in the tournament. Sindh opted to bat first after winning the toss, with Umar and Farhan begun the innings. Umar couldn’t get going as he was undone for 10 by Zia. Farhan was joined by Ahsan Ali and both took a liking to the Federal Areas bowling attack by smashing them all over the park. The pair on a great 203 runs stand for the 2nd wicket. Farhan’s half century came off 56 balls, as he went to make 83 before being dismissed by Bilal Asif. Ahsan continued to impressive with his classic stroke making, as he piled up a scintillating hundred off 96 balls, ad went to make 115 before being dismissed by Bilal Asif. Umar Amin and Hammad Azam joined for the 4th wicket stand, and smoked the bowling lineup all over the park by putting up 126 runs, in just 10 overs. Hammad remained unbeaten on 78, while Amin made a breathtaking 69, as Sindh put up 385/4 in 50 overs. Bilal Asif took 81/2

Chasing a massive total of 386, Ahmed Shahzad and Israrullah could’t provide a big opening stand, as the both openers were dismissed within first 7 overs, as Federal Areas were struggling at 49-2. Saud was joined by captain Rizwan. Saud looked in sublime form; as he completed a well-deserved half century off 35 balls, and went on to make 52. Rizwan could only manage 22, as Nauman Ali trapped him in front for 22. Sohaib became Nauman’s second wicket as he could only manage 7. Rameez Raja and Nawaz joined for the 6th wicket stand and added 122 runs. Nawaz’s half century came off 48 balls, and went on to make 55, as Hammad got the better of him. Rameez played a decent hand by adding 70, as he too was dismissed by Hammad, with Federal at 240/7. Bilal Asif and Waqas struck few blows in the later part of the innings. Bilal made 29 , while Waqas was dismissed for 13, as Federal Areas were bowled out for 300 in 43 overs. Sindh completed a well-deserved first win of the tournament. Hammad picked up 57-4.
