Double Centuries glore at the day 2 of QEA Trophy!

Southern Punjab began the day 2, at 291-4 with Sami Aslam and Adnan Akmal at the crease. Northern Punjab got the first wicket of the day, as Adnan was dismissed for 113 off Waqas. Amir Yamin struck a magnificent half-century off 62 balls, as his knock of 64 was ended by Bilal Asif. Sami Aslam completed a magnificent double hundred off 355 balls, but the wickets continued to tumble around him. Irfan, Rahat Ali and Irfan Sr were dismissed for a duck, as South Punjab’s innings was closed at 467. Sami Aslam carried the bat with magnificent 243*. Waqas Maqsood picked up 83-4, while Hasan Ali got 100-3.

Northern Punjab innings was started by Ahmed Shahzad and Azhar Ali, as both built a steady partnership to take their side through the rain-affected session with 47-0 in 18 overs. Azhar remained unbeaten on 20, while Shahzad scored 22 not out.

Kyber Pakhtunkhwa begun their second day, with captain Rizwan smashing a brilliant ton off 185 balls, while Adil Amin made 73, Sohaib Khan was undone for a duck, as Rizwan’s scintillating knock was over at 176 by Shadab Khan. KPK declared at 526-9, with Rizwan being the top runs scorer with 176. Shadab picked up 151/4

Afaq Raheem and Haider Ali began the innings for Northern side, as the pair put on 53 for the first wicket stand. Afaq was undone by Junaid for 25. Umar Amin and Haider saw their side to the close of play at 109-1 in 40 overs.

Sindh began their innings on day 2, with Abid Ali completing a magnificent double ton off 423 balls, while Asad Shafiq made 37. Fawad Alam contributed with 18. Sarfaraz remained unbeaten at 44, as Sindh declared the innings at 473-5. Yasir Shah picked up 127-3.
