SKGT wins NAC – FCL while Lahore to host Final this Saturday

National Amateur Cup 2019-20 has already ended in Lahore in FCL phase while the final of Lahore Corporate will be played on coming Sunday. Islamabad is in the semifinal stage while Karachi phase is also about to end.

Here is a quick recap of the Islamabad quarterfinals and FCL final.


Eagle Stars secured a facile win over Islamabad Ryders in the first quarterfinals by 21 runs. Adnan Siddiqui’s brisky knock of 68* runs guided his side Eagle Stars to 159 runs. Ryders tumbled and only managed to score 138 runs. Adnan Siddiqui was named player of the match award.

In the second quarterfinal, Vetran Boys emerged victorious over Rebels. Batting first, Rebels posted 140 runs with the aid of Wajahat Farooq’s half century. Danish of Vetran Boys played match winning knock of 40* runs to book semifinal berth. Vetran Boys chased the total in the 19th over with 11 balls to spare and won the match by 6 wickets. Mubeen bagged man of the match award for his 31 runs and 2 wickets.

Isloo Smashers outclassed Black Hawks in every department and won the match by 78 runs. Smashers smashed 184 runs in first innings. Jibran Babur top scored with 57 runs, some other top contributors were Umer Nawaz Raja (47*) and Muhammad Haris Naseer (44). Arsal Ahmed’s destructive bowling sent Hawks back to the pavilion for just 106 runs and picked up 5 wickets. He later earned player of the match award for it.

Spartans became the fourth semifinalist by beating Mustangs by 51 runs in the last quarterfinal. Man of the match Bilal Masood provided a good start with his gritty knock of 68 runs but his team could not carry the impetus and tumbled. Saqib Khan down the order played a vital knock of 38 runs to help his side reach 169 runs. In return, Mustangs only managed to score 118 runs and lost the match.

The final of FCL was played between SKGT and AC All Stars which SKGT clinched quite successfully. SKGT did not allow All Stars to settle for a decent partnership and as a result, All Stars elusively posted 146 runs. SKGT successfully chased the target in the 19th over with 11 balls to spare and won the final by 6 wickets.

The final of Lahore Corporate will be played between Meezan Bank and this Saturday at 11 AM.
