First of the three T20I between Pakistan and Zimbabwe begun at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, at this very venue hosted its first T20 game, as Zimbabwe batted first after winning the game with Osman Qadir making the debut for Pakistan.

Hasnain provided an early breakthrough for Pakistan, as Chihbaba was dismissed for a duck. Taylor and Williams 29 for the 2nd wicket stand, as Taylor was dismissed for 20 off Haris. Williams and Madherve put on 36 runs, as Usman Qadir made his first t20 scalp by dismissing Williams for 25. Sikandar Raza lasted for 7 only. Chasing 157, Fakhar and Babar provided a quick start, but Fakhar was dismissed early on for 19 by Muzarabani. Haider couldn’t get going as he was dismissed for 7. Hafeez and Babar then put up a sensational 3rd wicket stand, as Babar made a half-century off 36 balls, and was dismissed on 82 as Hafeez made 36, helping Pakistan to edge out Zimbabwe by wickets in 18.5 overs.
